Why this portfolio works

People with disabilities face some of the steepest barriers to voting — inaccessible polling places, confusing ballots, transportation gaps, and laws that too often ignore their rights. This portfolio backs organizations led by and centered on disabled communities that fight for accessible voting, protect disability rights, and ensure every eligible voter can participate with dignity and independence.

Accessible voting takes more than one kind of organization. This portfolio combines disability-led voter mobilization, legal protection and enforcement, self-advocacy, and community-specific access work for deaf and blind voters — so organizations working at different points in the system reinforce one another.
